About us
Woodsong Alpaca Farm is a small alpaca farm located in the beautiful and quaint town of Blue Ridge, Georgia in the North Georgia Mountains. We raise huacaya alpacas and have ducks and chickens.

Gail Scherer
I am the mom of two boys and a previous middle school math teacher. Being an animal lover, I have always wanted to have a small farm. While taking spinning lessons some years ago, I visited a local alpaca farm and immediately fell in love with these gentle creatures. After spending several years working with a local alpaca farm, we finally were able to purchase animals and move them to our farm in February 2012.
I am active in the Georgia Alpaca Association as the treasurer, and travel to alpaca shows throughout the year. I love teaching and am excited about setting up classes at the farm.

Steve Scherer
Steve is retired from Kennesaw State University where he was a math professor and the head of academic computing on campus. He raised a son and a daughter and has four grandchildren. Steve's passion was to build our house by himself, and that he did. We have a special place to live out our lives and to enhance the lives of our grandchildren. We live on family land and it is Steve's father that named it Woodsong.
